I have had the privilege to work at BIDMC for the last 16 years of my career. My only regret is that I am retiring this June before I see the new building open. We already provide excellent care to our patients We will now be able to do that in a state of the art facility. Every service line has participated in the functionality of this new space. Collectively our voices were heard in order to create a beautiful but efficient care area.

It is rare that one gets to be involved in building a new hospital building as a patient volunteer, and with others I tried to help guide the building of an accessible building for all ill or disabled patients, family, friends, and other visitors, as well as staff. May time show that the care and thought that went into the construction of this building brought greater universal access, and the best medical care possible, to all.
